HI everyone, Tonight was my first debate ever and it was kinda interesting ^^
There were different panels and some of them where so boring but of course there were very good ones too. I went there on my own, what I personally think is better so I can easily talk to everyone and ask questions and socialize and so on :D
WHAT WAS IT ABOUT??!
Go check the site =)
Well it was about the future of Brussels: 'From the urban vision to the political governance' was the theme. Brussels: my city, that I actually appreciated more after I have been there :)
And what I also liked was that the discussions were made in the two languages (Dutch and French)
- They handled the next topics:
- Reduce traffic by 20% by 2020 (what I remember about it is that they said: 'It would be a dream released if Belgian people could have one card with which they could take all the public travel systems')
- Accommodate 50,000 households by 2020 (I was here only for the questions because you can't be at every panel at the same time^^ I saw people who really felt bad because they where going through that kind of problems. The questions were like: 'There are a lot of houses/buildings that are empty, why don't we use them to accommodate people (homeless people)??'[Because in Brussels there are social houses who are hired in very bad situation to the law social classes, where kids and also adults (families) get sick because of the (for example) humidity or ...]And another question that took my intention was: 'Wouldn't it be a good idea if we, in the place of trying to build new houses, we arranged the houses who are in bad situations. And that we start co-habitations ( = three or more families in one house with a common kitchen, sanitary..)?!'
- Create 19,000 school places by 2020 Okay this one was boring but interesting at the same time! It was boring because they just gave too much unnecessary info, but the then there was the info that was important and interesting to (such as: the numbers of parents that couldn't find schools for their children next to their house or just couldn't find a school at all)
So the problem is quite obvious: there are more children comming but there is nomore place to accomodate those children + there is no more space to create new schools And of course no more money ^^
2. And three questions:
- What is the place of religion in our city? (this one was so BORING I don't want to explain :)
- How to be young in our city? (THIS ONE WAS THE MOST INTERESTING OF ALL THE PANELS: at first because there was diversity in the panel (different cultures, but sadly not a girl, but I forgive them because there were girls in the audience for the questions :)) and secondly because there was a philosopher of who I love the vision named Bleri Lleshi (he's also an activist, he studied political sciences and he's also a documentary maker ). I had already red an essay of him but being there and hearing his vision was kind of exiting.
This panel began also with a video
- How to develop and enhance it's professional activity? I wasn't there for this panel :/
So world get ready, here I'm coming InsALlah !!
Young SOul!!
